Sookee
There are probably much easier areas to discuss sexism and lack of gender and sexual diversity than the German hip hop scene. Sookee does it anyway – and not just since yesterday. Since 2003, Sookee has been on the road as a rapper, talking about left-wing politics and queer feminism instead of wallowing in rigid role models and capitalist status symbols. Patriarchal structures can be found everywhere, but they are particularly evident in rap. With her new album „Mortem & Makeup“ she now consciously wants to address people outside the left filter bubble. Get inside the heads of those who are otherwise less concerned about social injustice. Reach those who didn’t want to listen so far.
